A new European regulation on general data protection, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), entered into force 25 May 2018. The aim of this European regulation is to enforce the privacy rights of every citizen of the European Union over the way their data is stored and processed.

Climate Action Network (CAN) Europe will only add people to our mailing lists when there is a legitimate interest or with their active consent, through providing them with information on the potential use, storage, access and erasure of their data, before they fill out an ‘opt-in’ subscription form. For requests relating to the Financial Flows newsletter subscription, please see the privacy information here. CAN Europe members should refer to the Members’ Only section of the website for privacy information relating to membership and members’ mailing lists.

For volunteers, internship or job application requests, sending us your personal data will be considered as an active consent to use your data. The personal data of the applicants will be stored only for recruitment procedure purposes and deleted after one year. CAN Europe will not share your data with any third party. People have the right to access, modify and delete their data.
